Keeping the UK competitive: Rising RMB and capital markets explained

The City of London focuses on practical measures for supporting the development of London’s RMB markets, and the APPCG is delighted to welcome Policy Chairman at the City of London, Mark Boleat, to comment on RMB developments, bond markets and other key areas and plans for the RMB initiative and the UK’s development.

Together with City of London, HSBC is leading this space in market development, product innovation, as well as client engagement. Joining Mark will be Rongrong Huo, who has been at the forefront of these developments for HSBC since late 2011. Rongrong will discuss the opportunities and challenges in both markets, how these has developed and the trend the banks have seen.

This will be followed by a discussion and Q&A, where guests will have the opportunity to learn more on the role the UK will continue to play in relation to overall internationalisation of the RMB. The speakers will also share their thoughts on UK foreign-exchange currency reserves and what further developments we can expect from the UK.
